Welcome to Drag Racing’s finest, this is where the big boys compare barks and clash kahuna’s. Yes, our Competition Series, where the big guns come out to play. 5second passes at 270mph. Blowers, turbo’s, nitrous and now…NITRO – it all happens here.

Meremere Dragway happily boasts the first 4second 300mph pass in New Zealand history and holds on to the title of quickest and fastest track in the country.

Our Competition meetings caters to the thrills and spill of classes like Competition Bike, Top Street, Sport Compact, Supercharged Outlaws, Competition, Modified, Super Sedan, Super Street, Modified Bike, Screamin’ Eagles and Junior Dragsters. And it is only during these meetings that one can bear witness to the mighty horsepower of the Top Alcohol class who are running as quick as 5.5second passes and the Top Doorslammer class who are racing to break the 5second barrier…and if you’re lucky, you might catch a spot of nitro as we look to secure at least one meeting a season featuring these explosive beasts (weather permitting of course).
